Button cleaning ?

They look like the buttons on my R Class .... the 'rubber' coating easily comes off :(

When you have removed the degraded gooey rubberised coating (I used white spirit) you are left with a hard plastic button.

They look like the buttons on my R Class .... the 'rubber' coating easily comes off :(


no better on 01 w208. i on second set steering control buttons , no one eats or drinks in any of my cars but the buttons just seem to reach a point where they get sticky ,i have yet to discover a non replacement solution .

as said a bit drastic , i dont think they were well made ,but there it is now i think they are made of harder stuff .

Hmmm , i dont mind if the buttons look hard / shiney so reckon i will just give them a clean and see what happens

Problem is once the coating comes off you lose the image to tell what the button does to and end up with a shiny black bit with a shiny white square.

Mine didn't lose anything other than the sticky coating.

Perhaps the beige is different ?
