buying a c class estate

I want to buy second hand c class estate and have been rec the 2.6 c240 avantgarde. I have around 15000 to spend and won't be doing much mileage. Has anbody got any advice or other suggestions

Read the threads....read the comments about customer service....

Unless you are near to someone like Andy Gayle or someone like that forget it......buy something other than Merc....

Saab.....Lexus.....Jaguar.....even BMW the comments are nowhere as bad as they are on the Merc sites. Even US Merc sites are as bad as UK ones.

buy the merc. we are all here because we love our mercs. I have the c180 estate. Great car. I am back with mercedes after dabbling with bmw and vw. The grass is not greener on the other side at all. customer service is just as hit amd miss with the other makes. Spend some time on their forums and you will see what i mean. :wink:

We have a 98 Elegance 230K - bought about a year ago, to replace an ageing E200. So far have been very pleased. Ideally wanted another E but basically coulndt afford what we were really after.

That having been said, apart from lack of space and the seats do not fold down as per the E the car has been fine. It has just been serviced in a stealership (99 quid the basic service) but with vat and the ****** screen weash - oh and a cool fifty three quids worth of engine oil...the bill was 260 quid.

Very pleased with the performance the 230K really does shift.
