Buying a C220CDi Blue Efficiency 2009

Guys,

I'm looking at buying a C220CDi estate, Blue Efficiency 2009, auto.
Bit confused as to which auto 'box this would have - is it the 7G tronic or an earlier 'box on these ?

What's a recommended diagnostic tool for home use on these ?

It will have the 7G box

I think some also had the 5g box?
I suppose the date of manufacture, not the date of registration, will be the determining factor.

My mid 2008 C220 S204, not BE, has the 5G box - although my 2008 SLK280 has the 7G! I would expect the BE 204 to have the 7G box as part of the lower emissions and thus lower RF stuff.

Probably 5g, 7g was normally only on the 350CDi and 350CGi up to the facelift in 2011 when it went standard on them all
