I had a W202 of October 2000. Wonderful car - mechanically "perfect".

The only problem was rust, which was repaired without quibble by MB. I think the most vulnerable areas are around the tailgate lock, and the front wheelarches. Check generally, but note these points particularly. Don't let it put you off an otherwise excellent purchase, just be aware, and perhaps use it as a negotiating point.

thx i love the w202 model this will me my third the one im looking at is a nice example no rust but the lools like it may be on the way .

thx again for help this will be my first mercedes diesel and i hope they dont have much trouble i one stoped to help a lady who droke down in a w202 diesel and it looked bad .
