Buying an ODB II adaptor

Hello

I am thinking of buying one of those ODB II adaptors to use with CLS 320 2007 and SLK 280 2006.

There are plenty on Amazon, both bluetooth and wireless, could someone please suggest which one to buy (or which one to avoid) ?

Much will depend on your phone. If it's an Android either will do. If it's an Apple you probably need the WiFi one.
Other than that it's pretty much of a muchly unless you spend the money on a branded one.

i paid i think £ 8 for one off ebay , it wouldnt talk to my w211 or the wifes r170 , i use a cable now and palmer software on my laptop .

I bought a wifi version to use with my r171.
Only works with one particular app. Dash command. Works on my wife mini with any app. Mercedes seems a little picky.

I bought this for my R171 slk 350 2005 and works perfect and on my ford ranger pick up, only reads and deletes codes

I have tried it on the CLS 320 and on the SLK 280.

It can read some live data and fault codes.

I cannot read mileage unfortunately or other systems, eg the A/C maybe.

That's perfectly correct. A generic reader will only read engine emissions related codes. You need an MB specific reader to read aircon and other systems.
