Buying parts from merc during COVID and parts departments shut.

Hi have recently purchased a 2012 e350cdi 265 bhp coupe but it has a thermostat issue and I’m trying to buy a new one from Mercedes/jardinemotors in Southend. It seems the only way is via an online chat and appointment only as a COVID measure. My question is has anyone else gone through this and what were there experience of this, as I’m still waiting a response a day later from the online chat.

Mercedes in Newcastle upon tyne have a shop on ebay.
My local dealers parts department is open as normal.

Phone your dealers with the vin/reg no and tell them the part you want, they will call you when its in and you go and collect it.

My MB dealers just have a limit in the number of people in the parts department, which works well as its entrance is via a glass side door separate from the sales area.

Guildford, Slough Beaconsfield and Grangemouth are all open.
Sensibly only one person allowed at Parts desk at a time.
Might be an issue when the rain and cold arrive but for now works well
