Hi,
having had my MB for just short of a year I decided that it was time to change for something with better seats in the back :( having been totally fed up with the franchises down here I could not stay with the brand :( So I have bought a new Saab instead.

I have enjoyed you company over the time and have had many good discussions :)

I will keep an eye in from time to time :D Enjoy your cars and I look forward to a better MB in the future...

Best regards,

Peter

I may have a reprieve in the form of a 124 while I am waiting for my Saab :)
I have been told I can have a £260 insurance reduction so it might bee too good to turn down :D

Best Of Luck Peter

Well I be darned Peter.:( . it was nice to know you.

Call around though, for a chat.

Never know, you could be back sooner than you think.

Nearly bought a used 9000 when buying my first W124 MB. It just didn't do it for me.

Cheers :) Im proud of what you and the others have achieved getting this site back from the depths, and Im sure I will still pop in here :)

As for coming back to the MB fold, I have the chance of a 124 while Im waiting on my Saab so I may still remain. My original thought was to buy a 129 then trade to a 230 but when it came down to it I hate the Dealers here so I could not buy a car that would tie me to them :( The SL has been a very nice car and Im glad I have had one.

Saabs have come on loads since the 9000. I had a 93 converible and that was nice, but the new one is out of this world ! much lighter, faster and easier to drive try one you might like them (if you can get passed the plastic

All the best and still lurking :)

Peter, Just shove a silver 3 pointed star on your SAAB and you can still remain a member.

in fact you dont have to own a Merc to be an Member so you can share all your swedish experinces with us instead of the caravanners club.

I like the look of the SAAB convertables. and at least Ford dont own SAAB. Pity GM does.

Mercedes or Saab list?

Hmmn, At the threat of the Moderator, this appears to be going onto a Saab list. My wife said she fancied a Saab convertable so son and I went to look at the dealership near his place and looked in the 'boot' to find it full of a built in box to hold the hood stuff when folded down, no place for shopping. Thus de-considered, but current favourite is daughter's MR2 with only 2 seats and diddy boots. Anybody got a good older version for sale, perhaps behind the back of the Mercedes?

I'ts funny you should mention caravan club :D I was looking at their events and it does seem to revolve round camping :( Im starting to get a bit worried about what Im getting into, still as long as the don't want to wife swap Im not too worried :D

I dont' realy think that GM is too bad for Saab. Like most mergers there is a fair amount of sharing of technology. They lost the plot as far as the purists are concerned, but they seem to have noticed that and are trying to sort this out. Afterall there are not many luxury car makers that aren't part of a mass production group afterall you need that sort of budget to design a car now...

How are your legs doing?

I had an MR2 roadster, the first thing you do is throw out the space saver tyre in the front and get AA cover to tow you if you get a flat. That way you get a decent boot (just dont put frozen stuff in it :)

Did you see the boot with the hood up? that box goes and there is a very spacious boot :)

Yes, eventually. We have just looked at a C180 Kompressor estate, which passed her approval test, I thought it needed a bit more steam, despite the supercharger. Then onto a 323 convertable in black which passed mine, then onto a Saab convertable which was a used but tired example. I agree that the box goes floppy with no hood, but the BMW has a better housing. The BMW is a smaller, tighter car. Daughter's MR2 is a fun drive and I did ponder fitting davits to the back of my Coupe for it!

When you say used but tired was that the old shape? If so that had a fairly small boot in comaparison to the newer version

It appeared to be the same as the new ones. The older shape which I have seen was rather different. Had the one we tried been the same quality of the Merc or BMW, we would have been interested. This was in a garage on the way back from the MB and BMW shops. There doesn't seem to be a Saab shop handy for Lancaster.
