Purchased a C class '02 reg 270 cdi 2 months ago and this problem seems to have got worse over the last month.
When I would go over a small bump in the road the back end would wobble from side to side. With being a new car to me and never driven one before, I thought It was just a characteristic of the car. However then came the noise.... if you go slowly over a speed hump and drop off the other side, a spring noise can be heard. At first I thought it was the boot spring , now Im not sure. From all your threads on here I suspect I have broken rear springs .... any ideas? If it is springs, how easy are they to replace? any tips??
The rear end wobbles quite a lot now, would I have caused any more damage by putting up with it til now
