Your Diesel Particulate Filter is all blocked up by the sound of it. Does it go straight into limp mode on start up ?

You need to get the codes read.
Without codes you may as well ask us what the winning lottery numbers are for the next draw.

One thing is for sure - if you drive it with the light on the DPF won't regen and will block up.

Could be alot of things , Dpf pressure sensors are rife , six revisions so , and cheap .

Get yourself a iCarsoft , modern motoring can't be without .

I do lots of short distances, drive to shop around the corner, 2 miles to work etc.
Around every 3 weeks if ive not driven far enough to move the temp gauge i will take a detour to let the car fully heat up, floor it in 2nd then resume normal driving when it changes to 3rd. this seems to keep the dpf % full low !
