I am trying to replace the repeater lens in the wing mirror of my C class. So far I have removed the mirror glass and the adjusting motor (torx screws) and released the big spring. Now I am stuck. Can anyone help? Dajo

Hi Dajo

Is no where near as tricky as that and is honestly a 10 min job. I did this myself to put the facelift style ones in in January.

IIRC the glass does not have to be removed you basically fold the mirrors in manually (if not electric) and push a scredriver up the gap and unhook a catch which releases the whole cover the wire must then unplugged and the indicator lamp uncsrewed. Once the new one has been screwed back and plugged in, the whole casing just clips back.

In terms of the clip to unhook, it is a shiny stainless one just have a fiddle with a screw driver and try and work out how it releases, it is quite straight forward. If you are still stuck let me know and i'll try and post a pic or two.

Regards

Jacob

Very helpful thanks. I can read a bit of Russian, at least the alphabet due to being at a school that taught it when the cold war was on. Dajo
