Hi

I replaced the number 4 injector seal (copper washer) but after completion the engine is failing to start.

Turns over OK but seems to make no attempt to fire. I have checked the fuel to each injector and they all seem ok; also checked number 4 injector solenoid is receiving power and that also seems fine.

I have no idea what could be causing this and wondered if anyone could offer some advice.

Thanks.

Stuart.

Most of the time you have to crank it to death to bleed it up, just keep it cranking without stop/starting...........

Air in the fuel system as a guess the early 203 diesels can take a fair few cranks before they fire, new 203 always start after one or two turns.

10 cranks for the starter should get it running.

Thanks chaps.

I've tried it lots of times this morning with no joy, sometimes turning it over for 20 seconds or more.

Worth giving it even more time you think?

we have a 203 with the same engine. i know that when we change the fuel filter, you have to crank it for an alarming length of time before it starts! once running, its fine though

Have you thought of giving it a quick squirt of easy start just to see if it will run , might run long enough to draw the air out of the injector :)

As everyone else, just crank it for a long time!

my 320cdi took at least 30 seconds of cranking after changing an injector seal before it started.
