C Class boot only opens in stages....

Ok, battery died and was replaced. Since that point, the boot will only open in stages. You press the button (either fob or in car) and it will open a few inches. Press again it opens a foot, then another foot or so.. Then eventually it will be at max. It won't close remotely either...

Anyone have a clue? Had it plugged into the STAR system and it cant find a fault?!?!?!

Could be coincidence with the battery? Does it need lubricating? The power boots feature resistance monitoring to prevent accidents, so if things have dried up / got dirty over time it may think there is an obstruction and stop opening.

Interesting will check that as well. I am told if the STAR is plugged in it opens completely but as soon as that is removed it reverts to type...
