I have just replaced the front disc pads on my C180 (96).
The pads were previously replaced at the Merc dealer. On removal I found the wear sensors mounted in the inboard pads, and had not been activated. The outboard pads were more worn and the hole for the sensors were exposed. My Haynes manual is confusing as in the text for removal it states that the sensors are mounted in the inboard pad but the text for installation says to fit the sensors in the outbourd pads.
As my outboard pads were the most worn, is this the correct place to fit the wear sensor ?

The sensor wires are normaly fitted on the inner pad.
You must have a sticky calipar if they are wearing uneven.
The wear should be uniform.

Your Mercedes
A140 (AMG wannabe), E300 TD, S320, E280 (dead but not forgotten)
If I was you PM I would worry more about your slider pins on your calipers. They may need either cleaning or even replacing.

MB genuine ones are £6.59 each + vat ( 4 at the frt)

If you want some give me an email and I'll sort you out...
