My 2000 C class continually defaults to german language despite my constant attempts to store English metric or Imperial or instrument cluster language.
I'm hoping this is not a major fault and I'm hoping someone can help or advise. I read Pascal's posting about a battery defect and wonder if this might be a contributory cause?

Many thanks & best wishes to all from

When you change the language to English, does the unit work in English until you turn off the ignition?
If it does, it is probably that you do not have a constant 12V to the unit.
This causes the unit to default back to factory setting once you take the key out of the ignition.
