I can give you the info to take it out over the week end and where you can send it, you may have to remind me as I have problems still to sort out

One problem in that the Comand was not fitted to the 202,do you mean the APS 30 with navigation or is the car a 203,,the first 6 VIN numbers would correct this

Hi

I have the same problem on my W209 CLK, it works but I keep having to eject and put the Nav CD in 5 or 6 times as I keep getting the 'CD reading error' message

Will a CD lens cleaner be enough to sort the problem out? or is it more deep rooted than this?

Thanks

The laser pick up has gone low by the sound of yours and there are firms that fit new ones on Ebay.

Lens cleaners are poor and only remove hairs or some dust, the odd CD unit that we get in does respond to a proper clean with spirit, more so if they come from a smoky house

The firms on Ebay were charging £175 I will try and find a link, they are normally under Parts on Ebay for the car in question,

The pick ups can cost £45 on their own, and to fit into a Comand there is a lot of dismantling to do, I believe that they also change the loading parts as these can ad do give problems
