Hi All,

Completely new to this so please excuse any ignorance and/or naivety!

I've been looking online at C180K and I'm pleased to say there appear to be a few in my price range, mileage range etc.

I'm looking for a black/dark blue option with leather seats, no older than 3 years with less than 35k miles and preferably manual.
Reckon I can do it for £12k??

Also, anything in particular I should be looking out for whilst looking?

All advice happily received.

Thanks,
Kaz

I think so. 3 years ago a manual C180K retailed for about £20K OTR. Leather is a common option and black is probably the most popular colour after silver.

Look out for ones described as SE (special equipment), which have alloys, climate control etc. I'd say the panoramic sunroof is the most desirable option on these cars - basically glass all the way from the front of the windscreen to the rear spoiler. Makes a huge difference to rear seat passengers (also fun to drive with it open!)

Mixed feelings about the roof. They look nice but have had many problems with rattles when fully closed. If you can put up with this, then fine but some are very bad. Engines should be OK but some have worn the valve seats oval & requires a new head.

heres my Coupe, they are a nice car, i have a manual...but im not sure id reccomend mercs manual box's? what do other people think? my mads merc auto was so super smooth! ive heard that merc manual's are notchy, and mine certaintly is!
Also alot of people who drive mercs like the fact they are mainly auto so watch the resale value, allthough, as mentioned before on here, being the coupe you might get away with it more than other mercs..

mines older than you are looking at, mines a 52 plate, 74,000 on it. ive only had it a year, but so far it has had, a trackrod end, the parking brake ratchet broke, ive still got an intermittant problem with the brake release lever, well the car beeps thinking that brake is still on when it isnt, its had a anti-roll bar drop-link, air air mass meter, allthough this wasnt needed! turned out the breather pipe had a tear in it!

I think thats about it, its had a service A, but in 5000 miles wants a service B
ive been quoted £400ish for service B. i think A service cost me £250?
allthough servicing to me is a rip off, if it wasnt for the stamp id do it myself, on a A service you basically get your oil changed, my air filter wasnt changed, nor plugs or anything ;p
they are a lovely smooth car :)
