c class diesel estate

Can anybody suggest where I could get accurate mpg on this 96/97 c class diesel esate, urban/extra urban.

Depends which model diesel.

I have a 98 C250TD estate, I average 35-40mpg, the highest has been 48mpg the lowest below 20mpg. Mind you it is chipped and at 180bhp and bucketloads of torque it goes like sh!te off a very shiny shovel!

The newer CDi engines are more efficient and the early non-turbo 220D and 250D's are unbeliveably, painfully slow.
