WHATS GOING ON????
1995 C Class , Only 75,000 miles new but playing up.
Battery dies after a few days even when car being used. Drivers window seems to work off all switch's when it wants to, the drivers window will also go down on it's own and needs a lot of work to get it back up. If I depress all the window switch's I can get the sunroof to open. Headlamp bulbs constantly work loose, and we have a whining sound from the power steering when cold.
Had a diagnostic test done and they tell me the car if fine!!!!
I have to put the battery on charge every 3 days and carry a booster in the boot to get me going.
Example, charged the battery Thursday, drove from Watford to Gatwick & back again, used the car all over the weekend, Tuesday the battery was flat.
Depressed the window switch the other day, drivers window went down, would only come back up when the car was turned off, door slammed and the switch depressd again along with the others, this opend the sunroof.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi David, As far as the battery is concerned you need to check the charge rate of the alternator and current draw when ignition off. Measure the voltage across the battery terminals with engine running at a fast idle.Should read at least 13.5 V. If not then you have a charging problem. Disconnect the positive battery lead and connect an ammeter in series and check current draw with ignition off. Should be minimal, electric clock etc. If heavy current draw then disconnect fuses one at a time until you find the guilty circuit. Regarding the windows then I would be looking at bad earth connections and faulty switches.

Thanks, called out a MB diagnostic team earlier this year and they told me that the car was A OK . At this time the windows would not perform their party piece but as soon as the guy left, hey presto the windows played up again. Been to Tesco today, my daughter had the back passenger window open, as we pulled up in the car park, she closed her window which also opened mine!!!!! Been reading on this site about a comfort relay, could this been my problem??????

Sounds more like you have a wiring problem - intermittant - on the drivers door main window switch.

disconnected the switch, window opened from the key fob, chucked down with rain and got soaked. Re connected the switch , up goes the window.
Have now removed the fuse for front and back windows, see what happens now in respect of the battery drain. Can live without windows in this weather but thats not the answer is it. MB Watford never heard of a comfort relay, German Sweedish cant help either.
