C Class ESP and Engine Lights on!

Hey guys.
I have my car's ESP and engine lights on. It started just yesterday when I was driving.
First ESP light came on along with 2 error messages on the screen.
"(Yellow ESP symbol shows on top) Inoperative. See owners manual."
Collision prevention assist plus inoperative."
And then engine light came on.
When I fully stop and move again the car accelerates very slowly and a burning smell comes from the car.
Both lights are yellow colour.
What can be causing these issues?

PS: I live in Hackney, London. I work in Hemel Hempstead.

I would get the fault codes read before trying anything else. Could be any number of things with the problems listed.
Have you had a look under the bonnet for anything out of place, leaking, missing or are you not mechanically minded ??
