hi ive a 2002 c220 cdi compact. ive just got the car and after driving a while, a warning comes on the dash telling me coolant level visit workshop. the level is ok but the fan dose'nt seem to be coming on. Is there anyway to check the controls of the engine fan to make sure it is ok?

cheers Gary

I will take a further look tomorrow I know its something to do with that washer bottle we have had this up before,,it could be also moisture under the front SAM in the control box

Engine fans( Visco) cut in at just over 80ºc and all electric fans cut in at 100ºc

There is another fault that can happen on the 202 and that is that water gets into the connection box under the bumper nearside, and or moisture in the control box, though this normally causes the engine fan to run all of the time

A SAM is an electronic box that take signals form many parts of the car, when moisture is present it gives out non plausible signal. If it is a moisture problem there are modified lids (2) for the control box
