No they aren't

But the differences aren't between different engine models but is dependent on when the car was made. From the models you're quoting I'd guess you want lights for the W202 and not W203.

Early C-Classes have the main beam and dipped beam as a single twin filament bulb (I can't remember the codes, H4, I think) and the fog lights occupy a separate part of the housing that is closest to the front grille. Infact the same layout as the 190E (W201) E.G. with side lights on and fogs you can achieve the 'cross-eyed' look.

Later model C-Classes (Post '97 I think but don't hold me to that :p ) have main beam and dipped beam separated over different bulbs. The fog lights now reside under the dipped beam bulbs and the main beam bulbs are in that section that's closest to the front grille.

Post 97 (W202) C-Classes also got the option to have Xenon HID headlights, and the AMG models have separate fog lights mounted in the front bumper.

Hope that makes sense, basically you need to tell them what year your car is.
