C Class heating illumination?

Hi

Wifes C220 coupe. The lights which illuminate the central console which includes the heatind and a/c controls are VERY dim, so much so that even the smallest ammount of exterior light makes it look as though they are not on. The manual does not help, is there a control somewhere that will allow me to up the brightness just a little or are we stuck with it?

I do not know this for sure, but does not the adjuster in the cluster also dim these lamps.

In the dash cluster, bottom left there's a trip mileage re-set button.

Try turning this clockwise.

yes it does. Its a button that sticks out on the left hand side of the instrument panel. Twist it too full brightness and all the lights around the car will get brighter. Unfortunately the dash will too. If you want the rest of the lights to be a decent brightness you will have to put up with the dash being very bright.

She has taken it to work so will give it a go when she gets back. With any luck we may be able to see the a/c and rasio controls when it is dark!
