Ive got a C class W202, and I want to change the speakers. Is this a easy job or best left to the experts. I dont fancy cutting wires or soldering. Any advice would be great thanks in advance:):):)

If you just change the speaker, they will need to be around 1 to 2 ohm, if you fit 4 ohm the radio output will halve

Hi,
There are adapter kits available for the speakers front and rear shelf so you can fit 6.5" speakers, or you could do like I have done and buy complete front door builds, like the pic below,

Hi Malc,
I replaced the factory fit Merc unit with a Alpine stereo with full IPOD control and 6 disc changer in the boot, all hokked up to a 2 channel Kicker Amp running at 2 ohms.
It does sound very nice, next job replace the standard rear shelf and door speakers, and a single sub in the boot.
Hammers, they cost £250 for the door builds complete with speakers (4 per side, MB Quart) and cross overs, plus fitting.

Thats not a bad price for all that and they do look good. Dont think the wife would let me spend that much just on front speakers.:):):)

Bear in mind, that price was for the panels 2nd hand though they had never been fitted, the true price is in the region of £700-750 with speakers when new.
I will say though Malc, the time & Money I spend on the AMG, Iwould probably be better off with a significant other!!!

In the end went for the CDE-101RM head unit, 13cm components speakers in the front doors which include the tweeters, alpine speakers in the rear shelf, and a 12inch sub with amp in the boot. Not going to use speakers in the rear doors as this would require another amp and funds wouldnt allow that, well thats what the mrs said:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Getting it fitted on monday once ive picked it up and ive given it a test ill let you know how it sounds.:):):)
