Can Anyone help !!!!
My car refuses to start the Starter Motor is not even ticking as if the current is not reaching it......
I suspect that there is some sort of eletrical gremlin as the Wipers / Radio are also not functioning also, The car will start with a Push Start however
also the intial SRS warning lamp is not appearing
All the fuses appear to be fine, suspect it may be some sort or relay or open circuit
Can any one shed any light on this for me ........

I would suggest that your best option is to obtain a Haynes Workshop Manual. You don't say which W202 model you own as this will be important.

A possible alternative is to obtain an electronic manual on eBay but you will need a computer to access the data. I have a W202 but Haynes don't have a manual for my particular model so I bought the most recent C-class manual instead because the wiring diagrams are virtually identical. You should find a clue to your problem there.

I agree, your problem does seem to be electrical because the car will run if bump-started. The wipers, radio and SRS lamps may be on the same electrical circuit, if you're lucky.

starting trouble

My 1995 C220 would sometimes not start. It was as if the key had not been turned past the "run" position.

On cars worth stealing, the starter has 2 sets of contacts. One set normally open, the other normally closed. One lets the car start, the other keeps it running. It is not quick or simple to hot-wire these cars.

The cure on my friend's Corvette, and presumably my C220, is to take the starter apart and make the contacts work properly. Unfortunately, I learned this the day after my car had been towed to the dealer. The bill for the new starter was about $400.

I'm not sure if your car has a OVP relay. If it has it will be in a plastic box near (probably behind) the battery. The OVP relay is known to cause several electric problems. Take it out and check all contacts. Also some owners have checked 'All their fuses', only afterwards to discover one had a hairline crack. They are also prone to corossion, and only cost pennys to replace, cleaning all contacts as you do.

If there was a fault with you actual SRS system, this light will stay lit all the time. If it is the bulb, and you remove the bulb & replace, the system will need to be reset in a MB(or indepentent with the equipment) garage.

Have you got an alarm?

If I don't switch my alarm off, all the lights still come on on the dash (can't remember about the SRS light though) but the starter motor doesn't function.
