Does anyone know if all of the W202's share the same headlamp units?

I had a stone punch a hole in my drivers side light this week, so need a new unit. Will one from any year 202 fit, or did they change in the facelift?

Ta!

To identify early/late headlight, look at the back of your headlight, if you have one cover on the back its the early one, if you have two its a late one.
The bumper does,nt have to be removed, to remove replace the headlight, though you do have to remove the indicator.
To change the headlight glass, remove headlight, and the glass is held by stainless steel clips around its edge, which have to be slid to one side, though the glass is not stuck on it is compressed on a soft rubber seal, use a suitable tool to lever the broken lense off of the seal , once reassembled and refitted to the car don,t forget to get the headlights checked for alignment, ensuring the vacuum levelling dial (if fitted) is set to zero.
Hope this has helped.

Thanks for that, Andy.

I can get a complete headlamp unit locally for £45, so will be replacing the whole thing tomorrow.

Well. I got a new (old) unit, and got it fitted ok, but the whole assembly seemed to be sitting too high. There was virtually no clearance between the top of the light and the bonnet. Just didn't look right, so I ended up removing the glass and fitting it to my original, which bolted into place nicely.

Job's a good un, as they say!! :)

Hi,
I got some headlight protectors for my W202 from Euro Car Parts, but that was a few years ago now whether they still do them or not I don,t know, but give them a try.

Yeah, they do still sell them. Any chance of a pic of yours fitted? Just to see how they look?

You'd need to get a facelift one, yours is a facelift car I assume?
