Hi All
Thanks in advance for any help
I have a 2001 w203 c class c180 everything was fine up untill a recent jump start. Now with new battery fitted i have no wipers, indicators, fuel gauge and central locking is also not working. On the das after start is says instrument panel faulty. I had it plugged in a two faults remain for instrument panel:
B110a Fault in CAN communication with control unit N10/8 (Rear Sam control module)
P202d CAN Mess from instrument cluster

Can anyone advise.
I think i need to replace the Sam ?? but costly !!

Again thanks for any help

Is there anything specific to avoid when jump starting to prevent this Colin?

I would imagine that jump starting is widespread at this time of year, and with such cold weather.

Before you go replacing the rear SAM try unplugging the power connector at the rear SAM and leave it disconnected for an hour or so, replace the connector and then pop round to the drivers seat and see if the rear SAM has decided to rejoin the CAN.

Worked for me but then again I hadn't jump started mine.

HTH.

That's all well and good, but then if the sam hasn't blown, it might when you reconnect it, they hate power loss/gain,

And at £250 a go, thats a lot of risk!!!!

The one you need is in the boot on the n/s behind a cover!!

You will need to remove the trim on the left to make it easyier to get out!!
