C class with auto-blip

The new C class AMG sport due next year will have auto blipping throttle to make downshifts sound sporty. Strange to say my first cars with worn out synchro needed the same but you had to do it yourself.

Why? I learnt to drive in a Viva HA with no syncromesh on 2nd, my double declutching impressed the examiner no end, but this seems just..................stupid!

My old RR had a 4 speed crash box, living where I do, by the time you got into second the car had stopped and you needed first again :--(

Yes I learned on a crash box.
The chap who taught me (an old waggon driver) had me up and down the box without brakes between lamp posts before letting me loose on the roads.

The purpose of the blip, as is the purpose of syncromesh, is to have gear and shaft revolving at roughly the same speed before meshing them together. Not sure that F1 cars have syncromesh?
