Started the Journey home last night. After a couple of minutes the car seemed to die. The revs dropped, little power, when stopping at traffic lights I thought the car was going to stall. Managed to limp home. I re-started the car....no problems!. Drove to wor kthis morning, no problerms.

I had a look at some previous postings, and they appear to be pointing towards a Spark Plug or electrical problem. Does this sound about right?

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome Brownie, you do not say the milage of the car, if it is 60k plus it could well be the MAF filter. this is the way that they behave when in need of cleaning or replacement.

Done 120k plus.

Sorry to ask, what's the MAF filter?

Cheers

The MAF is the filter that sets up the engine for fuel mixture and air ratio.
If you go to the top of the engine section, you can read all about it. 120k is about the max that these things go without attention.

No you can get them around £50, why not try cleaning it as the thread.
