Hi I've just bought a C180 Sport '97. Even in the summer heat it's struggling to start first time. If you simple turn the key all the way round it will fire into life but then the revs will drop quickly until it cuts out.

You can get away with giving it some serious accelerator action but... I am wondering if it's maybe just idling too low. If so how do I adjust that?

If not what do you think?

thanks!

Could be the MAF sensor, I had similar symptoms and had to change mine, also had poor acceleration and the car would backfire when warm. Could also be TDC sensor, suggest you get the car to some one with diagnostic equipment.
