The question that you pose is hard to answer and needs a lot of research. Have you thought about having you own one rebuilt at a specialist Diff rebuilder.

Was hoping to do a quick swapout on this one. been offered a c200 dif with low miles for 200 quid. dont know how this compares to rebuild?. will have to make some calls next week to find other options.

I have found out that the diff will be specific to the engine size because of the diff ratio. on the casing of the diff there is a flat section on the casting which has the ratio stamped on it. As long as the replacement unit is the same, there should be no problems. A rag for cleaning the casing and a torch will be handy.
