Hi,

Could someone please advise;

I have a 52 plate c180 kompressor and the engine keeps miss-firing. I have troed new spark plugs, but no joy. The mechanic wants to try new coil packs, but this is gooing to cost more money. Do you think he is right? Or could it something else?

Thanks. Would really appreciate some help!

You've tried new plugs, which is always a bonus. Check the condition of the HT Plug Leads and replace these as they aren't too expensive and they are quick and easy to fit.

Then, next down the line would be the coil pack. But I'd try giving the HT leads a good clean up and then replace if that doesn't work. It's worth trying before anything major.

As Stu_CDX, but if this is an M271 engine, don't rule out sticky valves:-o

One way is to determine what cylinders it is not firing on, then swap a coil pack, to see if the miss firing cylinders change
