Hello all,

I have a 1995 C180 and I have an intermitant problem with the fan/heater control dial flashing and the vents only blowing hot air. There seems to be no logic as to why it starts doing this but I have found that certain things stop it happening like triggering the ABS, which as you can imagine is not ideal.

Does anybody else have any ideas as to how to stop this problem as having volcanic heat being emitted from the dash in all weathers is not very pleasent :)

C180 Heater Problems

Hi

My heater had the same problem. Mine was a bad connection on the back of the Heater Control Panel.
You will need to take out the radio and the facia(mine wood) and gain access to the heater control unit (this includes fan/heater control dials and temperature controls for each side) this pulls out as one unit and there is a plug at the back I fiddled around with this with the lights on an iginition on until it worked and re-assembled. This seems to work for me. New heater control unit very expensive so worth a try. Could be a dry joint on circuit board inside heater control unit

Kind Regards
