Ok, new problem on the 96' c180 i've bought, the heaters aren't 'blowing'.... if i put the dials to hot and get the car on the road and put my hand over the vents, i can feel hot air coming through, but it has no 'puff' to it.....

Checked and replaced all fuses, any ideas fellas? simple fix or what?

You need to check out the blower motor, situated under the glove box , fairly easy to remove if you are a contortionist or skinny. The brushes and commutator went on mine at 110,000miles. Replacement from Euro parts was about £120.

First check the pollen filter if it hasn't been changed it will be blocked and restricting the airflow;http://202tech.mkosonen.com/howto/blower.html ; this will show you how to get in to it.Cover your carpet with newspaper before pulling out the filter as it will be messy.

Take a look at some other makes and you will find it is not that much different.
It is a lot easier to change than some though. You could try a scrap yard but you might be paying for scrap.
Good point about the pollen filter though (memory is going)

also check there is power getting to the fan as the regulator could also be the cause.
Go to Mercman or Dronsfields for a used fan or if you're handy you should be able to replace the brushes yourself as afew members have done.

well today i took the console apart JUST incase it was the connectioned, they were all fine, no corroding/melted wires and were firmly attached...

so then checked the pollen filter......minute amounts of grass/leaves and the usual black crap...... gave it a good bang and scrape around with the finger... nothing much in there at all i was suprised to see.... so finally had alook at the 'motor' you've mentioned...... one screw is partially unscrewed anyway....which leads me to think its already been replaced..... went to use voltmeter to make sure there was power getting to the motor, when i realised the mrs has been using it to stab something in the kitchen and thus WELDED the two connections together (probs her cookin lol) so going out for a new multimeter tomorrow, all singing, all dancing one, that'll teach her lol......

if you're checking fuses it sounds like the motor is not running at all...but if it is try it a few secs without pollenfilter. they dont always look as blocked up as they are. gen merc replacement is best.

don't bother fitting new brushes to the motor. by the time the brushes are worn out so too is the commutator.

the motor wasn't moving at all, nor was there any 'electrical noise' to suggest it was trying too either, but going for multimeter later so we'll see if its power or part to blame...
