Hi

Just bought myself a 1997 c180 Elegance auto- love the car. Only got 60K on the clock with full service history - safe bet I thought.

However I have subsequently noticed that when the car warms up it idles roughly, it seems to tick over at about 600rpm which seems low?

I have booked it in for a service on Tuesday and they are going to plug the diagnostics in and see whats what but would appreciate any advice on what it could be

Thanks

It could be a variety of causes

Might even just be something as simple as mucky plugs reaching the end of their lifespan.

maf?

Get some diagnostics done.

While the speed is about right, the roughness can be caused by a faulty MAF. My car has done 60k km and its just got a new MAF. Tell tale signs include black plugs, and there should be a fault code.

Is there any hesitation on acceleration?
