put a thread on the forum for tickover problems.but now it won't start.went over to a mates drove no problem got out pushed key fob all doors locked lights flashed.came back pushed button lights flashed doors opend went to start and all its doing is churning over and over.i took the injector fuel rail off complete with injectors and nothing is coming out.seems to be no power getting to injectors.checked plugs all dry.please help.one more thing i have just noticed is the red light on the rear veiw mirror is not flashing anymore.don't know if its coincidence or fault.please help only had car few days and already turning into a nightmare.
the only one good thing is when checking for fuel i noticed that a small bore purple vacumn pipe was unplugged so think that might have been my tickover trouble but now won't fire up to check.

The fuel pump relay would be the first one to check

The injectors open when there is fuel to open them, if the regulator is not working then no fuel,,, there are kits to fix this

But not enough pressure to open them, so I think regulator or the pump, there is nothing else

Hi,
Has the red led worked since you have had the vehicle? does it illuminate when locking/unlocking the car? If it does not illuminate when either locking/unlocking the car it will be the alarm immobiliser not switching off.
You will need to replace the mirror according to Mercedes but by taking your mirror apart carefully it is possible to replace the led on its own.
Ensure that both red and green led's also work on the drivers door handle.
The purple pipe you are talking about was it on the drivers side inner wing? This sounds like its for the manual headlight aim.

Spot on :D
Purple pipes are for headlights - forget that idea.
No red LED in mirror could well be your problem.
Failing that, check the red fuse on the overvoltage protection relay, under bonnet, below screen on NS.

hi yes red led used to work.it used to flash with the green (i think when i locked and unlocked the car)it also used to flash all the time when car was locked and left.now it won't flash at all .my pal still hinks its pointing to immobiliser problem.he's saying there is ample pressure in the fuel rail its just there is no power getting to the injectors so there's nothing telling them to open and close.

No red LED is an immobiliser problem. Could be a wiring problem but probably you need another mirror or repair your one. A mirror from a 96ish 210 E-class with red/green LEDs will also work.

This got some one with the same problem out of trouble last night this was with a 210 but it worked

Immediate measures for occasion remote

2 Disconnect connector from IRC control
module or negative pole on battery for
approx. 10 seconds and then actuate IR

Hi to all i have now found the fault it is the red bulb in the rear view mirror that has blown.i have removed the mirror and just used a small bulb from a radio.i held it in place at first just to see if it was going to work and hey presto it flashed both bulbs and knocked off the immobiliser car then started straight up.i've now left it with my pal to solder the small bulb into place.which is hopefully saving me the £100 or so it would have been for replacement mirror.in all honesty i'm ok with car stuff but it is a doddle to do.hardest parts are getting into the mirror which is just clipped in a few places and next is finding a small enough suitable bulb.if anyone needs to know anything more let me know.but thanks to all who pointed me in the right direction to start with.without you i would never have known.
