Hi,

I've just taken delivery of a new C180 with the mobile phone handsfree option. I decided to get the option after test driving a car with it, and it worked really well. However, its behaviour is different to what I was expecting;
1. You can only make a call if the Radio/Cd is ON. Otherwise the computer says "Phone OFF", even though it is definately on.
2. When I receive a call it doesn't show me who is calling - the dashboard just says "Phone". I thought that if receiving a call from a number which is in the phone memory it would show it on the dashboard.

Currently the functionality is less than if I'd just got a standard after market hands free.

Is this kit working properly?

Hi
The radio is part of the network that controls the phone system IE audio output therfore it must be switched on even if set to no output. the memory of the number calling must be stored on the phone and not on the SIM card, for incoming caller numbers to be displayed if you read the owners manual all will be explained .

there is no after market set that would allow you to use the multi function steering wheel and dash display, so I would dispute you last point
