C180 radiator fan runs continuously

The radiator fan on my C180 runs all the time. The coolant light also comes on intermittently but not particularly frequently.
I've been told it could be the ECU. Can anyone shed some light on this - hopefully a less expensive reason.

have you checked to see if theres coolant in the radiator ? as in full ?

Is it the electric fan on engine or front of car.
