Are you sure that you have not got the rear/ front balance control set to rear only.
If the front/back setting is in the middle or front only and still no sound. You will need an Ohm meter. the reading across the loudspeakers should read around 2 to 4 ohms. if OK then the pre or main amp chip is faulty in the radio.

HI

the stereo that was in the car was the same problem so I thought it was a faulty radio, I bought a brand new one and put it in, the origianal plug in the car fitted the stereo so I didnt need to cut any cables, i have traced all the cables from the plug at back of radio right into the wire loom and none has been cut, I have took off the front door panels hoping that the speakers would not be plugged in but there all connected, have checked that the radio settings on the radio isnt set to rear speakers but all settings are at zero............. whats the chances of both speakers at the front being blown resulting in no sound at all...............and for the record the rear speakers arent that good

any further suggestion would be appreciated

When you had the door panels off did you check the you had current to the speakers? If not there must be a break in the circuit somewhere . Use a meter to check the continuity of all wiring.

:p hi

decided to take the speakers off and check what was behind it, oncve i had the speaker loose and off the door, i discovered to my horror that the connections at the back of the speakers were that far gone that the speaker cable fell ofgf when I touched it, so maybe its new speakers :)
