Hi

My wife has a C180 1999, with 50k. when she driver is very hard the timimg slips- like it's missing a cylinder. If she stops and restarts it runs fine again, any ideas?

Don't thinks its the timing - its all electronic. I suspect if it starts to run badly, but then a restart solves it, its something causing the ECU to panick. Best to get the fault codes stored in the ECU checked by a specialist - common things are Air mass sensors but a diagnostic will tell you for sure.

As JB says, there is no real adjustment of timing as its all controlled electronicaly.

Have you checked the plugs/leads/dizzy/rotar
