When idling, my 1994 C180 takes a while to settle down to tick over.  Also,  at about 1500 RPM , when the trottle is released, the revs seem to pick up and then decease slightly(modulating), without the car slowing down.

Any ideas?

Hi

Sound like the idle actuator. You could try cleaning it. The inside part by the throttle flap. Usually gets  dirty. Sometimes you can get a result. Otherwise get it tested and check out properly.

The idle actator is the housing fitted to the front of the inlet manifold with the throttle mechanism attached to it.
