C180 W202 Non A/C poor fan heater speed

I have a 2000 W202 and it has never had what I would call decent fan speed. However now it is really poor and the car is becoming increasingly difficult to defrost and clear the mist from inside. Have tried cleaning windows with anti misting stuff but the fan heater is begining to remind me of the one I had in a Mini 25 years ago. I expected more from a well built 'modern' car - the one on my previous car a Vectra was superb!!!

Are there a few simple things I could check?

Fan in this vehicle is usually more than adequate. Check your pollen filter is not clogged up (take it out and run fan), if this makes no difference then your motor may be on its way out. Mine gave up at somewhere over 100,000 miles, brushes and commutator worn out. New unit from Euro parts cost about £120 or thereabouts

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
Its on the passenger side in the footwell, remove the lower kick panel and the heater ducting will be visible.
The new pollen filter I bought from Euro car Parts had instructions included.
