Front door: remove panel (2 screws - 1 near door catch, 1 behind plastic trim around inner door handle which just levers out - carefully!). Unpop poppers using broad screwdriver (use cardboard to protect paint). Unhook door handle rod by spreading clip gripper and pushing rod end down. Pull polythene sheet away carefully so you can stick it back when you've done. Rear door: Similar but you may need to disconnect the wiring to the rear passenger window switch too, depending on spec.

You don't have to take the door panel off to access the speakers on the front doors. It's been a few years since I did it but I think there is only 1 screw securing the speaker grille. This is all you should have to remove. Bear in mind that the speaker brackets are very flimsy and will have to be upgraded if you are serious about sound quality. I made one out of 12mm MDF and it worked a treat.
I also upgraded the rear speakers to a pair of 6x9s and they sounded amazing! To do this you will have to remove the rear seat back and then the parcel shelf. Again you will have to make a bracket for your speaker from MDF or something. You will also have to cut the metal parcel shelf of the car body to mount a bigger speaker. There are 2 15cm circular holes on either side which I 'joined up' by cutting with a Dremel, the metal is quite thin so is easy to cut. It might sound a bit longwinded but it is easy enough and well worth the effort. Best of all is the fact none of these upgrades are visible from inside the car so any mistakes you make will not be noticeable.

There is a single screw on the underside of the speaker cover on the front doors. Look UNDER the edge of the panel. Don't give up - Best of luck, Ron
