I have a problem with my car. Every few days yellow engine light comes on and then after few engine starts/stops it goes off. I have no idea what the problem is. I though that it was MAF but it wasn't. Its perfectly clean and engine works fine. It usually comes on when Im stuck in traffic.
I asked my friend to read codes stored in car memory:
- P2004 B2/5 HOT FILM MAF SENSOR
- P2029 MIXT. FORMAT SELF ADAPT (FUEL TRIM)

The first one points me to MAF, but I couldn't find anything about the second one. Does anyone know what might be the problem ?

Also I'm looking for good mercedes specialist in nort London, near Enfield - A10.

Thanks or help

Would you know what the second code means ? I couldn't find anything about it and what can cause it.

Can I test MAF somehow ? Or that's the only way - replacing it ?

Replace it. its the only way.

The second code is a consequence of the first.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
When the MAF goes down other things try and compensate, change this first

Cheaper from GSF or Bosch, they have the parts number list

I have changed MAF sensor (£320) and it didn't help. I'm still getting this light on my instrumental cluster. Every now and then. It's not constatly on. After 4-5 engin starts it goes of and after next couple days (sometimes even a week) the light appears again.
My friend read fault codes for me couple days ago:

P200A
P201C
P2029

Any ideas?
