Hello,
My Mum's had a C180K since new for a couple of years now, and loves it. However, she has had one recurrent problem which I've promised to investigate for her - She'll draw up to the petrol station, only to find that the flap over the fuel filler won't unlock when the rest of the car does. She does very low milage, but still this has now happened three times.
The local dealer is always very helpful, and has said that it is a mechanical fault - some metal or plastic clip breaking. They can unlock it immediately, but this shouldn't happen once in a £20k+ car, let alone three times in two years, and the part is of course never in stock. It is also slightly worrying if she should go on a long journey and be unable to fill up for the trip back.
So, I wonder if anyone knows if this is a common problem, and if there is any way to prevent it that the dealer is overlooking?
Thank you in advance for any help,
David.
