The wife's 2005 C180k coupe, has developed some odd noises on the rear passenger side. You can drive 5-10 miles and not hear a thing, park up, drive back later, still nothing, and do that day after day. As soon as you drive constantly for over 10 miles, an intermittent squeak starts, begining at very low speeds, then eventually doing it at 40-50 mph. It has also recently started doing a very loud, deep rubber squeal at very low speed as the car is about to stop, car parks being the most embarrassing place for it to do it.These sounds are all per rotation of the wheels, not a constant.
As this all happens after 10 miles of driving, and stops after the vehicle is parked for a bit, I'm guessing something is heating up with friction, expanding, and causing the problems. This would explain the cooling period stopping it.
WD40 and WD grease spray liberally applied but no difference. Anyone had a similar issue?
