Problem diagnosed by AA - NOx sensor needs replacing, cause of engine management light being on. Garage told me, it could be near the end of the year before they get delivery of the sensor(shortage countrywide) but car is safe to drive!!. Car drives as normal, not noticed any change in performance, have driven it sensibly with this condition locally for 150miles (3 weeks)
Q. What is the risk to the car if I continue to drive it?
Many thanks
Bashir

There are no risks, the AdBlue system just stops reducing emissions. So dont take it to MoT untill it´s fixed!
However after some time there might pop up in the dashboard 'Engine Start Not Possible in 500km) and it starts counting down untill it gets to 0km after which you can not start the engine untill you get a new sensor and get the codes reset.

The OP's car is a C200 Petrol so I don't think these have AdBlu addition, even though they have a Nox Sensor. So if the Nox sensor is down, the system is probably not being optimised properly. It's difficult to say what the longer term effect will be though.

Would most appreciate assistance with sourcing an original Nox sensor part number A00090585114/80.
It's for my 2018 C220 Sport Premium D auto. Been waiting for 2 months, ordered through Mercedes dealership.
Many thanks
