C200 acceleration issues

Hi folks, I have had issues.almost since day 1 of owning my C200. If I floor the accelerator the engine keeps resetting, as if it hits neutral and then reengages. It can do this several times. Merc did replace a sensor under warranty, well they said they did, but the exact same sensor went a second time about 6 months later and the garage said it would cost me £600 to replace it again. I fell out with them as this is total bs. The " new" sensor should have lasted much longer. My indy garage guy says ignore it but I wonder is this why I have these acceleration issues? Has anyone else experienced this?

Sensors should come with a warranty! The excellent indy I use, replaced a sensor FOC when it failed after 7 months.

I'd be worried if a mechanics advice to me was ignore it

I must admit I thought that apart from items that are expected to wear all parts from MB had a 2 year warranty.

If the engine is behaving as you said then I would expect some fault codes to be stored. Have you had them read?

Is the car misfiring badly? If so under heavy acceleration demand them perhaps it's not sparking correctly or there's an issue with fuel (incorrect or contamination) or a faulty MAF.

If unplugging the MAF the engine runs the same then that's likely faulty check for oil in the intake pipe to rule out possible oil contamination.

Do you have the invoice for sensor? If so, what sensor was it?

Did the above sensor fix the issue reliably until now?
