Had my excellent estate from new and it's 3 years old in March. 37K miles and no problems whatsoever.

With only 136bhp, it is a bit short of grunt, particularly torque. I understand that the C220 is exactly the same engine but shows 165bhp and substantially more toque. Am I right in assuming that Mercedes simply change the ECU settings for the C220 to get more power?

I am tempted to get the car remapped by a well recommended specialist once the warranty expires in March.

Any comments/advice as I am really looking for more torque for towing my caravan.

Thanks in advance.

The c220 is twin turbo.
The torque difference isnt huge, 10% but the 220 does have 25% more power.

Good evening,

We have a C200 coming in next week! Gains are very good on these.

Gains: 40-45bhp and 60-65nm of torque and power delivery is much better and far smoother due to the increase in rail pressure.

If you have any further questions please feel free to pop an e-mail to info@gadtuning.co.uk and we can get a tech guy on it for you.

Many thanks

Isn't the 220 a single turbo, with the 250 having two? At least, that's what I was told when I was looking.

The 220's and 250's run exactly the same engine and management! They run different mapping.
