I've got a 1994/M C200 and athough it has central locking (doors all doors/boot open with turn of the key) the dealer tell me there isn't 'keyless entry' on it at all (e.g. press a button on the key fob to open doors). I've got a 1993 Jeep base model that's got central locking with a fob SURELY they can't be telling the truth. No central locking fob on an expensive luxury car?!?

Does anyone have any ideas? Are they correct? I have very little faith in dealers.

I wonder if the dealer is thinking of Keyless Go? as it won't have that, it may just be the terminology.

I know that, what I was thinking was that asking a dealer if a 1994 C200 has "Keyless" entry may elicit the answer as "No" as "Keyless Go" was never available.
I don't know if it has remote lock/unlock but that question may have received a different answer.

Hello,
My M reg C280 has an MB approved alarm - Scorpion. This has a fob with buttons for keyless unlocking and locking. However, some time ago the system would not let me in when we were out one day and I had to have the AA out to redet the immobiliser/alarm system. Since then I've put the fob away somewhere safe as I no longer trust it. Always use the key now to unlock and lock the car. Maybe a previous owner of yours has done the same.

According to the dealer there was no central locking system operated remotly by a key (e.g. you had to put the key in the lock and turn) as standard before 'N' reg. You could however get it as an extra or by installing an aftermarket alarm system.

I think essentiall the car doesn't have a reciever for any kind of key signal. Apparently there would be a couple of lights on the rear view mirrior on this model if it had this but there aren't any on the one I have.

Plus another 2 on the drivers door handle in place of the keyhole (which remained on the passenger side incase it all went wrong).
No lights, no remote.
As you say , it was standard on N -> (mine had it) but they still didn't fit an alarm. I had to have one put in to integrate with the remote locking system.
