C200 Sport auto fuel gauge

Hi all Newbie here and to the merc in general had my C200 sport for a few months now and apart from an annoying misfire from idle to 'go' at a junction or traffic lights, not had any problems until last week when the fuel gauge started to shoot up to the full and drop down to empty/zero and do this off and on when driving. Is this a sender or wiring fault?

Hi Ron and welcome, just been told today that there are modified float guages for the 203, do not know what your is.

Some have had good results with a few tankfuls of 98 ron petrol where this has a cleaning effect on the float

had same problem a fried fixed problem . i believe week earth to something not sure what but will find out for u..
